Our first event of the year will be held at Swinley Forest Golf Club near Ascot, Surrey. The heathland course was designed by Harry Colt and ranks as one of the best, if not perhaps the most well-known, of the Surrey heathland belt courses and always a popular start to the season. New Captain Stu Butler will start the event with the traditional 'Captain's drive-off' from the 1st tee, hopefully with a large crowd of supporters looking on..
The event will again be 18 holes of individual Stableford, followed by the famous Swinley lunch, with no afternoon round. In view of the popularity of this event, we will be using a 2-tee start to maximise the number who can play.
The club is not a member of England Golf and there is no WHS Course Rating or Course Handicap guide. The Secretary / Captain will confirm the system to be used to determine playing handicaps, but in recent years we have based these on current handicap index, rounded up or down as appropriate.
