The annual match between the Aero Golfing Society and the Royal Navy Golfing Society was held once again at the challenging links course at Hayling Island. Despite the prolonged spell of dry weather, the course was in outstanding condition and with a very modest breeze, playing conditions were near-perfect.
The Aero GS fielded a strong side and supported throughout by our currently non-playing Captain, we were hopeful of regaining the Perfect Green Trophy which had been retained by the RNGS the previous year. It was, however, not to be. The RNGS had a number of Hayling members in their side and coupled with others “playing their best golf of the season”, the Aeros were soundly beaten.
Nevertheless, it was a great day out and we look forward to wrestling the Trophy back in 2027.
