
The Aero match with the RNGS is halved
Sandy Sullivan of the RNGS and Aero Captain Nigel Dowdall share the Perfect Green Trophy in a closely fought and halved match ending 3-3. One highlight was Colin Scott-Malden’s eagle at the (long) par 4 4th hole and his better ball score of 1 over gross with David Backhouse

A new Trophy - The John Spencer Trophy
This magnificent new engraved Quaich has been presented by John Hall Spencer OBE to the Aero Golfing Society and will be awarded annually at the Past Captain’s and Committee meeting. This meeting is now open to all full members and the Quaich will be presented to the member with highest net stableford score, excluding the winners of the existing Past Captains and Committee Trophies. John was educated at Bedford School and the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. He had a regular commission in the Royal Marines before joining Beaverbrook Newspapers in Fleet Street, then J Walter Thompson in Berkeley Square for twenty-one years, working on RAF Officer Recruitment and PanAm. He then set up his own international marketing business in 1982. Has run missions for SAUDIA, Saudi American Airlines in USA and in 2011 he was awarded an OBE for services to Business, Charity and work with Young People in London. He was a keen golfer in his day becoming captain of the Aero in 1997.
