Unfortunately the West Country Meeting was very poorly supported this year, with only 6 members signing up for Day 1 and 6 players on Day 2 - with one player only able to play on Day 1 and one player only able to play on Day 2.

Those members who did play enjoyed a fantastic course in great condition, having hosted The Open Final Qualifying the week before. The weather was kind to us as well, with a moderate breeze to take the edge off the heat over two warm and sunny days. We were joined by Barbara King, Jo Backhouse and Jo Bolton for the dinner and prizegiving in the evening after the. first day's golf. Nigel Dowdall took the Perth Quaich on 32 points, with Andy Hickmott one point behind on 31. David Backhouse won the Jack Bryan's (Over 70) trophy with 27 points.

David Backhouse had to return home after Day 1, but we were joined by Tom Lyons. After a disappointing round on Day 1, Anthony King came storming back on Day 2, scoring 39 points and winning the Ronnie Pew Trophy by 7 points. Nigel Dowdall was second on 32 points, on countback from Andy Hickmott.
