Captain's Report

It was a pleasure to return to Denham now that all but one of the bunkers have been refurbished and the course is settling down. It was in good condition for our annual match against the RAFGS, the greens were fast and true for the time of year and there was little evidence of standing water despite the appalling weather over the last few months.

With the weather set fair the morning matches set off well to time despite the usual M25 congestion. All six games were strongly contested but played in good humour, the result of the Keith Davies Cup was a win for the Aero 4.5 to 1.5, which set the team up to enjoy the much vaunted Denham lunch.

The Piercey-John Quaich, played over 9 holes Greensomes did not fair so well, the weather deteriorated into rain and hail and the result also was a change from the morning with the RAF GS winning by 3.5 to 2.5.

The match managers are to be congratulated on the efficient way that all was organised, they even have confirmed next year’s date as Tuesday April 15th. 2025 at Denham.
